I cleared ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Fireworks CS6
And now it works back again!!!

That's strange. I managed to load Linked Images via QuickFire but cannot load Alter Panel. Definitely something is wrong but I cant' get what

Actually, what you need to do is this:

"To clear them, he needs to clear his Preference file so Fireworks will remove them permanently and load the default preference file again." - Linus

I know John Dunning had an extension that kind of allowed you to skip the middleman, it was a Panel that was a list of all panels available in Fireworks, and you could launch them from the Panel. Not sure if that ever got out of beta, though, but it might help with your problem.

Yes. I also deleted all the extensions via Extension Manager and installed only buggy ones. I cant get why different SWFs are treated in a different way. And dont know where to look

Have you tried clearing everything else out of the folder and just leaving the issue ones?

I have. Moreover I renamed Symbol Properties.swf into Symbol Propertiesddd.swf and i stopped working until i renamed it back. I renamed alter.swf into altering.swf - nothing changed. Same situation it appears in window menu but it greyed out and inactive.

It doesnt depend on the patch as It was the same before I updated.
I also found out that somehow FW uses not all SWFs in Command Panels folder. It wont eat alter.swf and texture panel.swf but it does with for example spaces.swf from Jonh Dunning extension

Hmm, I haven't upgraded to the new patch, so I can't reproduce this error. However, I would suggest contacting John or Linus, as they would probably know more about it than I.

That's @fwextensions and @chunwui on twitter. You could also post a comment on John's site.

Hello,
I got texture panel item greyed out in window& Same goes with Alter extensions. I cannot make it work and dont' know how to debug. It seem the the extension gets installed but something is wrong with panels. These two extensions are not the only ones as extension Linked Images from John Dunning works in commands and also greyed out in window. Got completely stuck. Please help

Not working on Fw CS6 on Mac OS X 10.8.4. I opened the List panel and couldn't click on anything. I had to force quit Fireworks.

Hey I am noticing that it works a few times and then starts to select the texture 1 or 2 down from the one i selected.

Thanks Chris! It's always good to hear that.

When it comes to textures, FW doesn't provide that kind of information, just the name and opacity. If they do exist, I haven't found them.

If you don't want to use Flash, you could perhaps append the texture to the document, read the element's width/height, and then delete it. That's probably only feasible if you're reading a single texture, not a whole batch of them - that'd probably slow FW's engine down quite a bit.

My method was to use Flash to read the in the images/textures and get that information for me.

Cool stuff! I'm finding it quite useful.

I'm writing a couple custom JSF scripts, but I can't seem to access much information about textures embedded in a document. It seems like I can only get the name and opacity, but nothing like dimension. Did you happen to discover any of those properties while developing this plugin?
